Nepal goes Pitztal
We are proud of our employees by nature. After all, the whole Sonnblick factory is only driven by this "bunch" of predominantly local Heinzel Fräuleins.
Recently, two more very special helpers joined this team. We would like to tell you what an Everest trek in Nepal has to do with it.
But for that we have to turn back time a little. Willi and Alexandra love to be in the mountains. So they went trekking in Nepal in 2015.
Do they speak Pitztaler in Nepal?
The tour was accompanied by a Nepalese mountain guide who not only spoke excellent German, but also had an accent that was not unknown to the two of them - namely a slightly Pitztal 😊
It quickly became clear that this Pitztal dialect is not taught in Nepal. Because the mountain guide named Keshar had been employed at the Taschachhaus in Pitztal for four years in a row. The joy was great and the exchange eager and thus the foundation stone of a friendship was laid.
Keshar looked after us and showed us parts of the country that a "normal" trekking tourist does not get to see. Alexandra and Willi tell this over and over again, and it is still clear how impressive all these experiences are for both of them today. They still rave about the enormous warmth they received during their stay. And the simplicity and gratitude of the people still makes one feel humble today.
The contact with Keshar has never broken off - on the contrary - through the regular exchange, the visits and chats of the last years, Alexandra and Willi have learned more and more about the life, the worries and hardships of the people in Keshar's village Solokhumbu. Keshar himself runs the trekking agency "Nepal Fair Step Trekking" "at home" with his brother. He himself is an accredited mountain guide and also employs numerous assistant guides (Sherpas/ porters) in the summer months in Nepal. Due to the high level of competition and the poverty that prevails in the country, the conditions that all the porters have to put up with in order to be able to feed their families are sometimes inhumane. Keshar's company wants to counteract this and tries to contribute to the sustainable and healthy development of tourism in the Himalayas through its efforts.
If you ever plan a trip to Nepal, we can heartily recommend Keshar as your mountain guide.

Keshar has been with us at Sonnblick since November and works and whirls around all day.
Mingma is also part of the party. Many of you have already met her on one of the floors. With her shy but very warm smile, the sun rises in every room. Mingma already has years of work experience in Austria and spent some summer months mainly in huts in the Salzburg mountains. At home, Mingma lives in the same region as Keshar. She farms potatoes with her husband and daughter and other family members. Due to the tourism boom, her family was able to buy yaks, which are mainly used to transport the luggage of trekking tourists.
Mingma's area of responsibility is not only on the floor, but also in the kitchen. From time to time, she even prepares original Nepalese delicacies for us and our team.
Both enrich our team enormously. We more than appreciate their tireless commitment and warmth.
