Accessibility
How accessible our website is – and how to reach us if something does not work.
We are committed to making our website accessible in accordance with the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz, BaFG) as amended, which implements European Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services.
This accessibility statement applies to the website sonnblick-pitztal.net of GenussHotel Sonnblick.

Requirements, compliance status and implementation
The website partially meets the requirements of the Austrian Accessibility Act (BaFG). Among other things, the following were taken into account:
- Harmonised European standard EN 301 549, version 3.2.1
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.2, levels A and AA
In September 2026 we completely rebuilt our website. Accessibility was part of the development from the very beginning. Among other things, we have implemented:
- Clear structure: semantic HTML with one main heading per page, a logical heading order and page regions (header, navigation, content, footer) that screen readers recognise.
- Skip to content: a “Skip to content” link at the top of the page skips the menu.
- Keyboard operation: menu, links, buttons, FAQ accordions and photo galleries can be reached by keyboard; the focus is clearly visible.
- Text alternatives: images with relevant content have descriptive alternative texts; purely decorative graphics are skipped by screen readers.
- Contrast: texts have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 : 1 to the background.
- Zoom & mobile use: the website adapts to every screen size and remains readable without horizontal scrolling even at high browser zoom.
- Less motion: if you have set “reduce motion” on your device, the website does without animations.
- Tables and language: price tables have header cells, and the language of each page is marked up correctly.
- Data-saving: external content such as Google Maps only loads when you actively open it.
We check every new page and every further development automatically before publication (Google Lighthouse, accessibility category). This automated check does not replace a full review by people with disabilities – which is why we particularly welcome your feedback.
Accessibility aids on your device
Instead of our own accessibility menu, we make sure that the aids of your browser and operating system work reliably on our website. This way you use the settings you already know – the same on every website:
- Zoom: Ctrl + + (Mac: ⌘ + +) enlarges the page, Ctrl + 0 resets it. On a smartphone, zoom with two fingers.
- High contrast and greyscale: via your operating system’s accessibility settings (e.g. Windows “Contrast themes”, macOS/iOS “Accessibility → Display”, Android “Colour correction”).
- Read aloud: with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver or TalkBack, or with your browser’s read-aloud function.
- Reader view: most browsers offer a simplified reader view for longer texts.
Content that is not accessible
Some content on our website is currently not fully accessible. Here we explain why – and how we deal with it.
Content we are continuously improving
We regularly check our content for accessibility. Our aim is to meet all requirements as far as possible and to implement improvements quickly.
Third-party booking tools (disproportionate burden)
Online booking runs via tools from external providers (Seekda, Casablanca, Smoobu), over whose structure we have no direct influence. Some interactive elements in them – such as date-picker calendars – are not yet fully accessible. Replacing these systems immediately would be a disproportionate burden.
Having trouble booking? Call us on +43 (0) 5413 86204 or write to hotel@sonnblick-pitztal.at – our team will be happy to help and, if you wish, make the booking for you.
Content outside the legal requirements
- Older documents: documents published before 28 June 2025 (e.g. PDF files such as the general terms and conditions for the hotel industry) are exempt from adaptation under the Accessibility Act. On request, we are happy to send you the content in another format.
- Third-party content: we cannot make any statements about the accessibility of content from external providers that we neither develop, finance nor control – such as linked websites or the Google Maps map view.
Accessibility at the hotel
Information on the physical accessibility of our hotel – for example rooms, bathrooms, restaurant and spa area – can be found in our self-assessment on barriere-check.at (in German):

Feedback and contact
This statement was prepared on 24 July 2025 and updated for the new website on 30 September 2026. Compliance with the BaFG was assessed as a self-assessment according to WCAG 2.2, supplemented by automated checks of all pages.
We are continuously working to make our website even more accessible. If you encounter barriers, please contact us:
Email: hotel@sonnblick-pitztal.at
Please describe the problem as precisely as possible and tell us the page concerned (link). We will look into your request and get back to you as soon as possible.
Enforcement procedure
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the competent market surveillance authority. This is the Federal Office for Social Affairs and Disability (Sozialministeriumservice):
